
Leona Louise Lewis, born on April 3, 1985. She is an actress as well as a singer and activist from Britain. She was born and raised in the London Borough Of Islington she attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis could gain not only national recognition when she took home The X factor's third season in the year 2006. In addition, she received the PS1 million recording contract with Syco Music. A cover of Kelly Clarkson's"A Moment Like This" was her winning song. The track surpassed 50,000 digital downloads in just 30 minutes. It also remained at number one for four weeks. In February 2007 Lewis has signed a deal for five albums with the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. The success continued for Lewis when she released her debut album, Spirit (2007). It is certified platinum within the UK, becoming the fourth-best-selling album of the 2000s. In the words of the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the best-selling debut album by an artist of female origin in the 21st century. Its opening track "Bleeding Love" remained in the top spot of the UK charts for seven consecutive weeks and became the most-sold single in 2007. The track was the highest-seller during 2008, and Lewis earned an award for her work, the Billboard Award for the Best New Artist. In 2009, she released her sophomore studio album, Echo, and recorded the title track, "I See You" to be used in the film Avatar. Lewis has also released "Collide," a joint work along with Swedish DJ Avicii. In 2011 she also released Hurt an extended performance on her EP debut. Glassheart (2012) was her third studio album. Her inspiration came from electronic music and dubstep. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording songs to her Christmas debut album. Christmas, With Love came out later that year, and the album's lead track, "One More Sleep", peaked at number three on the charts in the UK. This chart position was what made Lewis to be the first British woman solo artist in the top 5 spots, having eight songs. Also, she broke Olivia Newton-John's seven record.
